Copyright and DMCA Policy
Last updated 4 July 2026
This page covers how to report content on outr that you believe infringes your copyright, how the affected user can respond, and how we deal with repeat infringers. We respect other people's intellectual property and expect everyone using outr to do the same.
outr is based in the European Union. We follow the notice-and-takedown approach of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and we handle equivalent notice-and-action requests under EU law the same way. You do not need to be in the United States to send us a notice.
1. Reporting infringement
If you think content stored or shared through outr infringes a copyright you own or are allowed to act for, email us a written notice at support@tryoutr.io.
For your notice to be valid, include all of this:
- Your physical or electronic signature, as the copyright owner or someone authorized to act for them.
- The copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If one notice covers several works, a representative list is fine.
- The material you say is infringing and want removed, with enough detail for us to find it (for example, the specific content, account, or URL).
- Your contact details: name, mailing address, phone number, and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
Note that under the law you can be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, if you knowingly claim something is infringing when it is not.
2. What we do with a valid notice
When we get a notice that meets the requirements above, we will:
- remove or disable access to the material in the notice within a reasonable time;
- take reasonable steps to tell the affected user we did so; and
- forward them a copy of the notice where appropriate.
If a notice is incomplete, we may ask you for the missing details before acting.
3. Counter-notice
If your material was removed or disabled and you think that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send us a counter-notice at support@tryoutr.io. Include all of this:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- The material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith the material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Where the DMCA applies, also a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice, or their agent.
Once we have a valid counter-notice, we may forward it to whoever filed the original notice. Where the DMCA framework applies, we may restore the material between 10 and 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless the original complainant first tells us they have filed a court action to stop the alleged infringement.
4. Repeat infringers
Where it is warranted, we will disable, suspend, or terminate the accounts of users who infringe repeatedly. We may also remove infringing material and terminate accounts in other cases where we decide termination is warranted.
5. EU notice-and-action requests
If you are sending a request under EU law rather than the DMCA, use the same address and give us the equivalent information: who you are and how to reach you, a clear description and location of the material, why it is unlawful (including the right infringed), and a good-faith statement that your information is accurate. We assess and act on valid requests under the EU law that applies.
6. Contact
Send copyright notices, counter-notices, and EU notice-and-action requests to support@tryoutr.io. For general and legal questions, use the same address: support@tryoutr.io.
7. Changes
We may update this policy. For material changes we will update the version and date at the top.
